What
are the test sticks for?
The test sticks
are basically a biochemical test that works on a urine sample and
is used in the same way as a pregnancy test. The test provides an
accurate way of detecting the levels of the fertility hormone FSH
in the urine. Since this is the hormone that maintains the regular
function of your ovaries and sex hormones it is a useful aid to
assessing your fertility. A positive result will be indicative of
a possible reduction in your fertility. This test is especially
useful for women with irregular cycles or aged 30 or more.

A
Positive Test result indicates;
- That you should
repeat the test again in 5-7 days. If both tests are positive
then you have high FSH levels.
- That you should
see your doctor if trying for a baby.
- That you may be
pre-menopausal and if symptoms such as irregular periods, hot
flashes, mood swings, insomnia and fatigue exist, you should discuss
your results and symptoms with your doctor.
A
Negative Test result indicates;
- That your FSH
levels are not raised. However, if you do have irregular periods
or any menopause-like symptoms we still recommend you see your
doctor.
- If in doubt please
don't forget you can email us for some advice as well

How
do you use the Test?
- Remove
the test stick from the foil packet and discard the freshness
packet.
- Hold the test
stick by the thumb grip, point the absorbent tip downward and
urinate on the absorbent tip for at least five seconds.(Note:
if more convenient, you may urinate into a clean cup then immerse
the absorbent tip into the urine for at least five seconds).
- Wait five minutes
before reading the result.
- The formation
of a pink/purple line in the control window indicates that the
test is working properly. (Note: if a line does not appear in
the control window, the test is invalid).
- A pink/purple
line in the large test window whose colour intensity is stronger
than the line in the control window indicates a positive result.
A faint line in the test window indicates a negative test result.
When
do you use the Test ?
The
first morning urine is recommended because it contains the highest
levels of FSH. Testing any other time of day may give false negative
test results.
The
BioCheck female fertility test is set to determine whether
the FSH levels in urine are greater than 25miu/mL.
